Team up to fight lung cancer! Gather loved ones together to enjoy the event and honor people who have been affected by lung cancer. Ask friends, relatives, and co-workers to join your team or start a new team! Here are some tips to help you start or build a team.
Fundraise
Create your Personal Page in about 10 minutes! It is a powerful fundraising tool that will allow you to tell your story, share your commitment to the cause and inspire people to give. It makes asking for donations very easy! If you don't want to participate by walking or running, you can register as an online fundraiser for the cause. Register as a participant or online fundraiser today!
Collect Pledges
Increase your support of Free to Breathe® through pledge donations by asking friends, family and co-workers for contributions. This can be done through your online personal fundraising page or by using a traditional pledge form. Download a pledge form to help you gather donations.
Check for Matching Gifts
Matching gifts are an easy way for you reach your fundraising goal faster than you thought possible! Remind your donors to check with their employers to see if their companies match all or part of their employees’ donations to charitable organizations. These matches can often double your charitable donation power!

Volunteer
Free to Breathe® depends on the kindness and dedication of volunteers to make the events successful. We can use your help with outreach, promotion and planning as well event-day tasks. Whatever role you take, you will be making a huge difference! Select an event location from the homepage and then click on the "Volunteer" tab for details about the available volunteer opportunities.
Advocate
You can fight lung cancer and promote awareness of the disease by:
- Promoting the National Lung Cancer Partnership's public service announcement campaign!
- Distributing the National Lung Cancer Partnership's brochures and other educational materials!
- Signing the National Lung Cancer Partnership’s online petition urging Congress to increase funding for lung cancer research!
- Writing a letter to your Congressional representatives asking them to help get greater Federal funds for lung cancer research!
- Writing letters to your state and regional representatives asking them to appropriate 1% (or more) of annual tobacco settlement revenues to lung cancer research!
