You can form a friends & family team, a company team, or club/organization team. Your team can be any size. All you need is a team captain, at least one other person to join your team, and a team name. Ask others to join your team by sharing information about the event, the cause, and why it’s important they participate in the event too.

• Choose “Form a New Team & Register as a Team Captain”
• The first person that registers a new team online is automatically the team captain
- Choose a catchy team name
• Make sure you tell prospective teammates about this name
- Recruit teammates
• They can join your team by clicking “Join an Existing Team” and selecting your team name
- Peronalize your team's web page
• This was automatically created for you when you formed your team
• It's as easy as uploading a photo and entering your team's story; it only takes about 10 minutes
- Manage your team online
• Recruit team members and send messages to your team
• Track the team roster and fund-raising progress
• Make changes to the team information
• Set your team's fundraising goal
• Promote other team members to be co-captains with you
Note: Each team member who joins will also be able to customize their own personal fundraising web page, which we strongly encourage.
Important: If you have already registered as an individual and would like to start a team or join a team send an email with your name, which event/city you are participating in and your team name to National Lung Cancer Partnership at FreetoBreathe@NationalLungCancerPartnership.org. We will gladly help you get started or add you to an existing team.
TEAM FUNDRAISING
The steps for successful fundraising as a team are the same as for an individual (see Fundraising Tips), but now you’ve got each other for support and encouragement, to exchange and share ideas with, and to celebrate the successes. Together, your impact will be tremendous!
With your team, agree on a minimum dollar amount for each member to reach or a total goal for your team to strive for. It’s all about teamwork, after all!
Then, set up your personal fundraising page, create a donor list and ask, ask, ask; remember to educate, expand your giving circle and show appreciation.
Important: Each team member’s individual fundraising efforts are what qualify them for the fundraising incentive. An individual is eligible for it if they raise $1,500 or more.
